Meditation for Metabolic Syndrome

Curve Curve

Metabolic syndrome is the term used to describe a dangerous combination of diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity. It puts you at much greater risk of developing heart disease, stroke and other conditions which affect your blood vessels. Beeja meditation enables the body to rest and repair, improving every aspect of this condition. It’ll also get you naturally motivated to make positive lifestyle changes. What’s more, it’s almost effortless.

  • The problem

Metabolic syndrome can not only cause heart disease, but also reduce physical and cognitive functioning.

There are lots of factors which play a part in causing this condition; from inactivity, to eating too much, drinking too much, smoking and a genetic predisposition.

Because of the general nature of the problem, most treatments, therapies and medications have limited impact.

  • How it affects you

Unlike most conditions that are characterised by one particular metric being off-kilter, this recently recognised condition is defined by a situation of allostatic load (meaning wear and tear of the body) being reached.

When this happens, you’re at risk of major disease unless restorative action is taken. The good news is… unlike other conditions, this one is reversible.

  • How can Beeja help?

The genius of Beeja meditation is that it can be undertaken by anyone, anywhere. If you’ve been inactive for a long time, it’s the perfect tool to get you going again. By quietly sitting still and utilising the sound of our personalised mantra, we are able to reset our mind, body and nervous system to its deepest levels (two to five times deeper than the deepest point in sleep).

From there, major rest and repair work takes place. Over time, more and more of our systems find themselves moving away from abnormal levels into normal ranges. This works not just to reverse metabolic syndrome, but to improve the body’s functioning as a whole.

Another major benefit of Beeja is that it also makes us feel way, way better about ourselves. Without even trying, we have way more energy and feel much more motivated to take healthy actions; whether that’s giving up smoking, drinking less, exercising or eating more healthily.

However unlikely it seems now, it is possible to end up healthier and happier than you have ever been with regular meditation.

"It’s been an amazing week. I have meditated twice a day, yesterday I was in the park. My senses feel heightened, I have had a visual feast watching my favourite Kubrick movies. I feel more confident. My brain has done some amazing healing. I stopped smoking but had a little lapse. But I am determined to quit. Friends have said how amazing I look and two friends will sign up for the intro talk. Really good things are happening and I am loving life."
